Protection measured in years, not months
A ceramic coating adds a clear, glossy layer of protection over your paint. It goes on once and lasts for years: dirt and road grime have a harder time sticking, washing gets easier, and the finish holds its gloss. We use professional-grade ceramic coatings and apply them at drop-off, after the paint has been decontaminated and polished.
Applied once, but not maintenance-free: regular washes are what get a coating to its rating.

What a coating is, and what it isn’t
A coating is a big step up from wax or a sealant, but it isn’t magic. Here’s exactly what you’re getting, so there are no surprises.
What it is
- A one-time application. It goes on once and protects for years, 1, 3, 6 or 9 depending on the level. No reapplying every few weeks like a wax.
- A clear layer over your paint. It bonds to the clear coat and locks in the gloss from the polishing underneath.
- Slick and water-repellent. Water beads off, and dirt and road grime have a harder time sticking, so washes are quicker and easier.
- An extra layer against the elements. It sits between your paint and the weather, road salt and everyday grime.
What it isn’t
- Maintenance-free. It still needs regular washing. Skip the upkeep and it wears out early, long before its rating.
- Scratch- or chip-proof. It won’t stop rock chips, door dings or scratches that cut through the clear coat.
- A fix for damaged paint. Polishing removes swirls and light scratches first. Deeper scratches and chips stay, and the coating seals in whatever is underneath.
- Spot-proof. Hard water or sprinkler water left to dry in the sun can still leave spots, so dry the car after washing.
- Permanent. Every coating wears down over time. The rating is how long it’s made to last with proper care, not a promise.
Keeping it at its rating
The first week
Keep it dry for the first 24 hours, and don’t wash it for the first 7 days while the coating cures.
Wash every 2–4 weeks
Regular hand washes keep the coating clean and slick. Dirt left sitting on it for months wears it down.
Skip brush car washes
Automatic washes with brushes, and harsh soaps, wear a coating down faster. Stick to hand washes with a gentle car soap.

From inspection to coating
Inspection and package
We look at the paint with you, then recommend the level that fits it and your plans.
Wash and decontamination
A full hand wash, then iron removal and a clay bar, so nothing is left bonded to the clear coat.
Polishing
Included at every level, so the coating seals in a clean, glossy finish: a paint enhancement for Level 1, a one-step polish for Levels 2 and 3, and a two-step correction for Level 4.
Coating
Applied to the painted panels and roof. Levels 2–4 also coat the windshield and the faces of the wheels.
Care afterward
Keep the vehicle dry for the first 24 hours and don’t wash it for the first 7 days while the coating cures. After that, regular, gentle washes, now easier ones, help it reach its rated life.

How long does a ceramic coating last?
We offer four levels, rated for 1, 3, 6 or 9 years. That’s how long each coating is made to last with proper care. Regular washing is what gets it there; skip it and the coating wears out sooner.
Is a coating a one-time service?
The coating itself, yes: it goes on once and isn’t reapplied like a wax. Keeping it working takes regular washes, every 2–4 weeks, which you can do yourself or leave to our Monthly Maintenance.
What do I need to do after the coating goes on?
Two things: keep it out of the rain, sprinklers and car washes for the first 24 hours, and wait 7 days before its first wash.
Do I still have to wash my car?
Yes. A coating makes washing easier, not optional. Dirt and Richmond grime have a harder time sticking and water beads off, but a car that isn’t washed regularly wears its coating down early.
Will a coating stop rock chips and scratches?
No. It adds a slick, protective layer, but it won’t stop rock chips, door dings or scratches that cut through the clear coat. Swirls and light scratches are polished out before it goes on.
Is paint correction part of it?
Yes. Every level includes polishing, because the coating locks in whatever is underneath: a paint enhancement for Level 1, a one-step polish for Levels 2 and 3, and a two-step correction for Level 4. If the paint has heavier swirls under a Level 2 or 3 coating, a two-step correction can be added for $300 on a coupe or $350 on other sizes.

Level 1 starts at $500 for a coupe, and Level 4 at $1,600. The comparison table above has every level and size. We confirm the final price at the free inspection, before any work begins.
